Occupational Therapy Assistant / Courses

The Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum consists of four terms. The program is designed to be completed in 19 months.

Term 1
Builds a foundation of prerequisites such as Computer Applications, English & Professional Communication, and Human Anatomy & Physiology.

Terms 2-3
Covers the core courses of the curriculum including Human Development, Psychology , Pathology, and Occupational Therapy courses for Pediatrics, Mental Health, and Physical Dysfunction. Students also begin observing practitioners in the field.

Term 4
Students will be placed in two 8-week fieldwork rotations where they will study with Occupational Therapists practicing in the industry. There are additional courses designed to bolster clinical skills, train students in cultural sensitivity, and prepare for the national licensure examination.
