    Accreditation

Graduation from a physical therapist assistant education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314; phone; 703-706-3245; accreditation@apta.org is necessary for eligibility to sit for the licensure examination, which is required in all states. Stanbridge College is seeking accreditation of a new physical therapist assistant education program from CAPTE. The program has submitted an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre-accreditation stage. Submission of this document does not assure that the program will be granted Candidate for Accreditation status. Achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status is required prior to implementation of the technical/professional phase of the program; therefore, no students may be enrolled in technical/professional courses until Candidate for Accreditation status has been achieved. Further, though achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status signifies satisfactory progress toward accreditation, it does not assure that the program will be granted accreditation.

The National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE) for Physical Therapist Assitants (PTAs) is the examination that is a part of the licensure process that allows PTA graduates the ability to legally practice in the United States. At Stanbridge College, we strive to ensure each PTA graduate is fully prepared to take and pass this exam through our unyielding commitment to their PTA education and NPTE exam preparation.

The Gateway to Your Physical Therapist Assistant Career

The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) is a non-profit credentialing agency that provides certification for the Physical Therapy profession. The NPTE for PTAs provides a stardard evaluation of PTA candidates. It also protects the public interest in having only those persons who have the requisite knowledge of physical therapy be licensed to practice physical therapy. As one of the final milestones before becoming a licensed PTA professional, the NPTE for PTAs questions focus on your ability to make decisions in various patient care scenarios under critical conditions. The NPTE for PTAs test requires that you understand the basic principles of physical therapy and apply this to different elements of patient safety management.

Committed to Your Success Before and After Graduation

Our unyielding commitment to our students’ preparation for the NPTE for PTAs exam includes cumulative review and exit exams in terms 1, 2, and 3 followed by a comprehensive end-of-program review and NPTE for PTA exam preparation course in term 4. Stanbridge College continuously provides top-of-the-line examination preparation materials and courses to assist students in successfully completing their exam. These services are provided at no additional charge to our students.
